Irish Soda Bread

This goes great with anything you make in the morning! It is simple and one of those tried and true dishes of Maureen Young.

2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
6 tablespoons unsalted butter

 

Mix the ingredients in a large bowl. Whish with a fork. Once it all comes together, place on the counter and make a flat mound.

 

1 cup buttermilk

Coat the top of the break with the buttermilk, like a wash.

 

Bake at 350 (F) for 35 - 40 minutes.
