Our first trip, in the spring, was through eastern Europe.
We flew from Vancouver to Paris on the non-stop Air France flight, and then on to Prague.
In Prague we meet our friends from Vancouver and together we had apartments in three cities (Prague, Vienna and Budapest).
From Prague we made our way to Vienna by private driver. Great way with no slugging luggage to train stations etc. There we had an well situated apartment to enjoy this popular city.
From there is was on to Budapest, a city for many years we have wanted to visit. No disappointment. Finally it was on to our second home, Paris.
It could not be a fulsome year without some time in Italy, so we heard off for a Fall trip to one of our favorite countries. We fry from Vancouver to Paris on the non-stop Air France flight, and then down to Rome.
This year we will travel north of Rome. We start on the coast of Lazio where we will spend a week just relaxing at Montalta di Castro and exploring the area. The Spring trip was basically big cities. So for the Fall we are planning more time in the country-side.
Next, we will travel up to Manarola, on the the Cinque Terre in Liguria Region to say in Manarola. It has been way too long since we have been in this area. Friends from Vancouver are meeting us there. Will be fun. Glenn has his photo locations mapped out!
The next stop is Bergamo in the Lombardy Region, this is a city we have not been to in almost 25 years and we are looking forward to a return visit.
Then it is down to stay in the Crete Senesi and the Val D'Orcia areas of Tuscany. Extra camera memory cards are already on order!
Finally we will be In Rome for a week and already booked time to be at Novelli Pen. While we could not get our "regular" apartment we have found what we believe will be an excellent apartment. It has a large roof-top patio and is located on the Piazza Cavour. This means a new area to live in.
Bergamo
Maybe twenty years since we have been to this jewel. We will be staying at the Gombit Hotel while in Bergamo.
